Cindy Landon’s net worth

Reports estimated Landon’s net worth at $1.5 million. However, her net worth could be higher than that as Forbes reported that she listed her Malibu home with her late husband, Michael, for sale at $18 million. It took a while for Landon, who had found another home in the same Malibu, to take that decision, as she did not want to leave the house she and Michael built together.

“I had every intention of moving into the home but when it came time to move I realised I wasn’t ready to sell and move from the home Michael and I built together—and where [our] children were raised,” she said.

Meanwhile, her late husband reportedly had an estimated net worth of $40 million as at the time of his death.

Landon has two children from her marriage with her late husband. Her daughter, Jennifer Landon, is her firstborn and she was born on August 29, 1983. She began acting when she was five years old, appearing in the movie, Highway to Heaven, alongside her father. Jennifer later attended New York University, where she studied drama. She is currently following her father’s footsteps in acting and has appeared in several successful movies and television series such as The Young and Restless (2012), Rabid Weight Loss (2014), I Spit on Your Grave III: Vengeance is Mine (2015), Banshee (2016), Days of our Lives (2017), Chicago Med (2017), among others.

Landon’s second child is Sean Landon. He was born in 1986. Unlike his father and sibling, Sean has opted for a career outside entertainment as he is a real estate agent. He is reportedly successful at it too. Forbes reported that he helped his mother list their Malibu home for sale.

Landon also has seven step-children from her husband’s previous marriage. They are Mark Landon, Shawna Landon, Josh Fraser Landon, Cheryl Ann Pontrelli, Christopher B. Landon, Leslie Landon and Michael Landon Jr.

Meanwhile, both Jennifer and Sean are advocates for people living with pancreatic cancer, a disease that their father passed from. The siblings create awareness for people living with the disease to get a better diagnosis and manage their health well.

Both Michael and Cindy Landon met on the set of Little House on the Prairie in 1974. Cindy was a stand-in make-up artist at the time while Michael was the actor. When they began dating, Cindy was 20 years younger than Michael. She was 28 years old, while Michael was 46. However, they kept their relationship private but when rumours began to filter to the public, people made speculations that their relationship would not last due to the huge age difference.

The couple got married in a private ceremony in 1983. On April 2, 1991, Michael suffered a severe headache while he was on a skiing vacation in Utah. Three days later, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer known as exocrine adenocarcinoma, which had affected the tissues and blood vessels around his pancreas. The cancer was inoperable and terminal.

Michael died in Malibu, California, on July 1, 1991, with Cindy by his side. He was 54 years old.
