What is Hello Kitty PFP?

Hello Kitty PFP is a profile picture of the popular Japanese fictional character, Hello Kitty. The character was produced by Sanrio, a Japanese company, and created by Yuko Shimizu. Hello Kitty is currently designed by Yuko Yamaguchi. The character is a small, round, white cat with a red bow and no visible mouth. She is often portrayed as sweet and gentle and has become a globally recognised cultural icon. Hello Kitty has appeared in a wide range of merchandise like school bags and other school supplies, clothing and accessories. She has also been featured in animated television shows and movies.

According to ZENPOP, the history of this iconic character can be traced to Sanrio founder, Shintaro Tsuji, who first started his career by selling sandals decorated with flower paintings. When he realised that sandals with paintings of cute cartoon characters sold faster, he hired cartoonists to design characters for him. Shimizu created the first character which he named Kitty. However, Tsuji renamed the character, Hello Kitty to promote social communication.

Hello Kitty was created on November 1, 1974, in London, England. According to the company’s website, Hello Kitty is not a cat, but a little girl who lives with her parents and twin sister, Mimmy, in London.

Hello Kitty made its first appearance in 1975 on a coin purse in Japan. The sale of this merchandise was a massive success which led Tsuji to open a store in the United States of America in 1976. Since then, the character can be seen on a range of products like clothing, accessories, home decor, deodorant, bags, stationery face massagers and even featured in animated TV shows and movies. In 2008, Hello Kitty received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in recognition of her cultural impact and popularity. Her star is located at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard, becoming the 2,457th star to be added to the Walk of Fame.

Now, Hello Kitty has become one of the favourite PFPs on social media, with different versions of the cute white cat all over the internet.

We are starting the list with the original Hello Kitty. She is described as a white cat with a red bow and no mouth. There are different theories as to why Hello Kitty has no mouth. One theory suggested that she was designed without a mouth so that she could be seen as a blank slate, and people could project their feelings and emotions to her.

Another theory says Hello Kitty was designed without a mouth because it allows her to be more open and accepting of other people’s feelings and emotions. However, the more believable theory is that it was a mere artistic choice for her not to have a mouth. Whatever the theory is, this Hello Kitty will serve as a great PFP for your social media page.
