Manchester United ahead, Cristiano Ronaldo, has despatched a message to his boyhood membership Sporting Lisbon, congratulating them on the twentieth anniversary of their Academy.

Ronaldo, whom the Academy is called after, expressed his want to go to the Portuguese membership quickly.

Sporting Lisbon renamed their Academy after Ronaldo in September 2020, honouring the previous Juventus and Actual Madrid star for his unmatched legacy.

On Tuesday, Ronaldo devoted a heartwarming video message to Sporting Lisbon, which the membership shared through Twitter.

Beneath is what Ronaldo needed to say (translated by A Z): “Congratulations on the twentieth anniversary of the opening of the Academy, for all of the objectives you’ve gotten achieved, and for all of the success you’ve gotten achieved. It’s a nice honour to have the Academy bear my identify, and I hope to see you quickly.”

Ronaldo, 37, joined Sporting Lisbon’s Academy on the tender age of 12.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner made his first-team debut for the membership 5 years later in October 2002 in opposition to Braga.

The Portugal captain left Sporting in August 2003 to affix Manchester United for £12.24 million.
