Meet the Hollywood iconic star’s teenage children

Hollywood star, Julia Roberts, has graced the screen for over 30 years after her breakout role in the 1990 film, Pretty Woman. Outside the movies, Roberts and her celebrity cinematographer husband, Daniel Moder, live a private life. The couple met on the set of the 2000 comedy film, The Mexican, and got married in 2002. They now have three kids, all of them teenagers. Despite the privacy, fans are still curious about Julia Roberts’ kids and what they are doing now.

Meanwhile, the Moders left Los Angeles and relocated to San Francisco, where they bought an $8.3 million estate in the city’s tony Presidio Heights neighbourhood. Reports suggest that both Roberts and her husband decided for their kids’ sake.

Although Roberts does not talk about her family in public a lot, she does share a little insight about what parenting means to her. In a TODAY interview with Mahershala Ali, her co-star in the Netflix movie, Leave the World Behind, Roberts revealed that her parenting style has stayed constant over the years.

“I parent them the same way out of the house that I parented them in the house,” she said.

“I have an immense amount of appreciation for both of my older kids because they still allow me to be the same mom to them and it’s not eye-rolling and there’s a huge amount of understanding,” she added.

The Oscar-winning actress also confessed that it was hard getting used to her kids being teenagers.

“Danny and I really don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today. Sometimes, my kids ask me things and I just say to them, ‘I’m going to say no and I’m going to look into it because I don’t even know what we’re talking about,’” she told Oprah Winfrey in a 2018 interview for Harper’s Bazaar.

So, these are Julia Roberts’ kids and their ages.

Hazel Moder

Hazel Moder

Hazel is her parents’ only daughter and a twin. She was born on November 28, 2004, in Los Angeles California, in the United States of America. Hazel is currently 19 years old and is currently a student at UC Berkeley after she enrolled in 2022, alongside her twin brother.

Like her mother, Hazel is planting personal roots in Hollywood as an actress. She made her big screen debut with a role in Julia’s 2016 movie Mother’s Day, in which she played the “cartwheel kid”. Apart from acting, Hazel and her mother share the same political views. In an interview with CBS, Roberts said that she took her daughter to the 2017 Women’s March in Washington D.C. because she wanted Hazel to understand what ideas and beliefs she has as a woman.

“She had a very strong interest in the (2016 U.S. presidential) election, and I think the result was so surprising to her, as it was to many of us. And I felt it was important for her to feel a sense of participating — you know, that you’re not just in your house and this thing has happened,” she said.

Hazel also shares a close bond with her dad, Danny, and even accompanies him to red-carpet events. When she turned 19 with her twin brother, their mother posted an Instagram tribute which featured a throwback picture of when they were babies.

“There are no words for the joy, the fun, the wild rumpus of life together,” she wrote in her caption.

Phinnaeus Moder is Hazel’s twin brother and also a student at UC Berkeley. As Hazel shares her mother’s interests, so does Phinnaeus share his father’s. Both father and son have a lot in common and have been pictured hanging out together. For instance, they both love skateboarding.

Three years after the twins were born, Henry Moder was welcomed into the world on June 18, 2007, in Los Angeles. Like his siblings, Henry has largely been kept out of the eye of the media. However, his father’s Instagram posts show that the 17-year-old loves extreme sports. Like his dad and older brother, Henry loves skateboarding and has been captured doing some heart-thumping stunts on the skateboard.

In 2019, his father shared a video of him doing a flip on a trampoline.
