Kyle Egan Richards Umansky, born on January 11, 1969, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, is an American actress, socialite, and television personality. She is the daughter of Kathleen Mary Richards (1938–2002) and Kenneth Edwin Richards (1917–1998). Interestingly, she was named after the football player Kyle Rote, who played for the New York Giants.

Her family history includes siblings such as Kathy Hilton, her older half-sister from her mother’s first marriage to Lawrence Avanzino, and Kim Richards, born in 1964. Additionally, she has three paternal half-siblings from her father’s prior marriage. It is worth noting that Richards is also the aunt of the well-known Nicky and Paris Hilton.

In 1987, Richards graduated from Central Union High School in El Centro, California.

Richards has enjoyed a diverse and extensive career in the entertainment industry. She began her acting journey in 1974, playing “Julia” in the television series, Police Woman. Notably, she appeared in 18 episodes of NBC’s Little House on the Prairie as “Alicia Sanderson Edwards”, alongside her sister Kim Richards, who also starred in the series.

Throughout the 1970s, Richards made appearances in various television shows like Flying High, Vega$, Fantasy Island, Time Express and Carter Country. She portrayed “Lindsey Wallace” in the iconic slasher film, Halloween (1978).

Her acting career continued with roles in different projects, including the medical drama series ER; the comedy film, National Lampoon’s Pledge This! and Lifetime’s television film Deadly Sibling Rivalry. She also made guest appearances in several TV shows.

Since 2010, Richards has been a prominent member of Bravo’s reality television show, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Her reality TV stardom has earned her recognition, including a nomination for the “Reality Star of 2019” award at the People’s Choice Awards.

In addition, Richards co-executive produced Paramount Network’s comedy series, American Woman, in 2018. She also reprised her role as “Lindsey Wallace” in Halloween Kills in 2021.

She also launched “Kyle by Alene Too”, a chain of boutiques located in The Hamptons and New York City. While her boutique in Beverly Hills initially opened in 2012, it temporarily closed in 2018 with plans to reopen in a new location.

Richards has shared her insights and experiences in her memoir, titled: Life Is Not a Reality Show: Keeping It Real with the Housewife Who Does It All, which was published by HarperOne in December 2011.

In the 1980s, Richards dated actor C. Thomas Howell. She married Guraish Aldjufrie in 1988 and had a daughter named Farrah Brittany in 1988. However, the couple separated in 1990 and divorced two years later.

In 1994, she met her second husband, Mauricio Umansky, a Los Angeles real estate agent. They married in 1996 and have four children together: Alexia Simone (born in 1996), Sophia Kylie (born in 2000), and Portia (born in 2008).

Richards converted to modern Orthodox Judaism when she married Umansky. She is actively involved in events at the Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles. Currently, the couple resides in Encino, Los Angeles, with their children.

However, Umansky provided clarification on their relationship status in a TMZ interview on September 28, 2023. He emphasised that they were indeed separated but clarified that divorce was not currently being considered.

In his words: “Divorce is not part of our conversation right now. That is not part of what we’re dealing with. We’re dealing with a separation.”

He further stated that they were not prepared to give up on their relationship just yet, expressing their commitment after “27 amazing years” together.

Amidst the challenges in Richards’ marriage, there have been rumours suggesting that Richards was in a lesbian relationship with Morgan Wade, who is 28 years old. These speculations arose as the two grew increasingly close over several months. Notably, Richards even appeared as Morgan’s love interest in the music video for her hit song, “Fall In With Me”, and they shared an intimate on-screen kiss. However, Richards has firmly denied this allegation.
