Born in 1983, in New York, in the United States of America, Lindsey Broad is an American actress. From a tender age, the world of acting beckoned to her and she embraced it with fervor. She graced the stage at various school plays and showcased her budding talent. She obtained a degree in theatre arts from Pennsylvania State University.

Over the years, Broad has gained recognition for her role in the web series The Burg, Fox’s sitcom ‘Til Death, the U.S. version of The Office and CW’s comedy-drama series, In the Dark.

Broad took on the role of “Spring” in the web comedy series The Burg, which was created by Thom Woodley. Broad served as the show’s head writer and producer and she featured in 13 episodes of the series from 2006 to 2009.
In 2007, she played a character who captures a photo of “Serena van der Woodsen” (portrayed by Blake Lively) in the pilot episode of ‘Gossip Girl, the teen drama series on The CW. She was also featured in the crime drama, Without a Trace, and the supernatural mystery series, Ghost Whisperer, in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
Her feature film debut took place in 2009 when she starred in Spread, a romantic comedy. Broad took on the role of “Emily’s roommate” in the movie. In the same year, she also made an appearance in the pilot episode of State of Romance, a contemporary adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. She also got featured in Rob Perez’s comedy film, Nobody.
Between 2009 and 2010, Broad played the character “Allison Stark” in the fourth and final season of the Fox sitcom, ‘Til Death.

The following year, she appeared in the short film History. However, she gained prominence that same year (2011) when she became a part of the NBC comedy series, The Office, during its eighth season. She portrayed “Cathy Simms”, a temporary replacement for Pam Halpert (Jenna Fischer). Through subsequent episodes, she becomes romantically interested in “Jim Halpert” (John Krasinski) and tries to seduce him, despite his marriage.
“Cathy Simms” became an unpopular character among The Office fans, and Broad, as the actress behind her, faced a significant amount of that criticism.
While Broad maintained a positive rapport with the cast members, she experienced a less favourable dynamic with the fans. According to her, fans were notably critical, particularly concerning her personal life. The Office star recounted a specific instance that occurred after the loss of her dog.
She tweeted: “If anyone is wondering what it was like to be on The Office, the best comedy of this century: I just posted something on Instagram about how my dog was murdered and a bunch of people were like “**** you, Cathy, she deserved it!” So. There ya go!”
In 2012, Broad shared the screen with Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube in the action comedy film, 21 Jump Street. In 2013, she took on the role of “Lauren” in Don Jon.
She has also starred in various television shows, including the CBS sitcom, We Are Men (2013); the HBO sitcom, Hello Ladies (2013); the HBO comedy series, Silicon Valley (2014); the web series American Storage (2014); the CBS sci-fi drama series, Zoo (2015); the NBC action drama series, Blindspot (2016); and the CBS sitcom Kevin Can Wait (2016). She also portrayed “Pippa” in two episodes of the third season of TV Land’s comedy series Younger.
Broad took a role in the series Benders (2015), a creation of Tom Sellitti and Jim Serpico. She portrayed “Karen Rosenberg”, the patient wife of the main character, “Paul Rosenberg” (Andrew Schulz). Unfortunately, IFC ended the show after airing just eight episodes.
In 2016, she featured in the dark comedy, Baked in Brooklyn. In the same year, she was featured in an episode of HBO’s late-night talk show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. In 2018, she played the role of “Chelsea” in the short film Connections.
In April 2019, Broad was taking on yet another “Chelsea”, this time, in The CW comedy series, In the Dark. Broad has also taken a significant role in live performances, notably participating in productions such as Sukie and Sue: Their Story.
