Sam Asghari and Britney Spears
Sam Asghari met Britney Spears on the set of the Slumber Party music video. At the end of the shoot, Asghari shared his phone number with the internationally renowned singer. After five months, Britney decided to give him a call, and they soon began dating. However, the couple chose to keep their relationship low-key until 2017 when they started posting their photos on Instagram. In June 2017, during a concert in Taiwan, Asghari and Britney shared a kiss on stage. After that, they were frequently seen together and even shared their workout videos on social media.
In September 2021, the two became engaged, which Britney announced through a video posted on Instagram. In April 2022, Asghari and Britney Spears announced that they were expecting their first child together. On June 9, 2022, the duo got married.
Following their wedding, they relocated to a new £11.8 million mansion in Calabasas, which Spears acquired. However, in August 2023, Asghari and Spears parted ways, and Asghari filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
Two months following their divorce, Spears unveiled her memoir, titled: “The Woman in Me”, in which she shared exclusive insights into her life, family and relationships. Within this book, she also delved into her connection with Asghari. The book does not cover her estrangement with Asghari. The celebrity primarily recounts their initial meeting and the instant chemistry between them.
“I have deep admiration for his stability,” Spears expressed in the book. “I appreciate that he abstains from alcohol. He’s a blessing.”
Before their marriage, Asghari provided unwavering support to the singer of “Hold Me Closer” as she underwent mental health treatment in 2019 and faced her conservatorship battle in 2021.
Following Spears’ public testimony in June 2021, where she sought to have her father, Jamie Spears, removed from the role of her conservator, an insider informed PEOPLE of the vital role her then-boyfriend had played in her support system.
“Sam has been Britney’s constant for years. He ensures she maintains a balanced diet and fitness routine,” the source revealed. “She relies on him for everything. He maintains his own life and work, but he’s there as much as possible.”
Asghari also extended his support to his former spouse in light of her memoir’s release. TMZ approached the 29-year-old actor as he was out in Los Angeles and inquired about his thoughts regarding the pop icon describing him as a “gift from God” in her book.
Responding, Asghari said: “That brought a smile to my face, honestly.”
He also lavished praise on Spears’ best-selling memoir, stating: “I’m extremely proud of her. I hope she conquers the world.”
