He made a guest appearance in an episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. One of his most iconic roles was as the Orc named “Grishnakh” in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Remarkably, he had read the book as a teenager, which aided him in bringing the character to life. Ure once revealed in an interview with Thrillist that the costumes in the movies nearly caused him to hyperventilate. In “The Hobbit,” he also played the role of Fimbul / Grinnah.
